Rachel
Rachel has a lived through a series of circumstances that some may call unfortunate. After the death of multiple loved ones, rocky relationships, abuse, health issues, and instability, she found Turlock Gospel Mission. Her life started to turn around when she surrendered control, belongings, and the past. She found support, encouragement, and life-changing resources at the Mission.
Today she joyfully spends her time helping at the Mission and declaring her gratitude for how far she has come. She enjoys helping others more than anything; this passion has inspired her to take online classes and begin the path of pursuing a career in social work, or a related field in which she can impact the lives of others.
“I am thankful for a bed to sleep in and a place that will shelter me and allow me to grow.” The Mission has been a haven for Rachel, when she needed it most and had nowhere else to turn. She has gained friendships, experiences, and a greater understanding of herself. She knows her goals and she is working to tackle them each day.
