Jeanna (Update!)
“I know God is always there. It helps me to see faces at Turlock Gospel Mission that remind me of His goodness” -Jeanna
A few years ago, Jeanna first walked through the doors of Turlock Gospel Mission seeking food and essential resources. Since that day, she has not only gained the skills to access those resources independently, but she has grown in every aspect of her life.
After utilizing the services of Turlock Gospel Mission and finding a place to live, Jeanna became a committed volunteer at Turlock Gospel Mission, dedicating her time and talent to serving those in need in our community. Jeanna would spend her days serving meals at the Mission, mentoring homeless friends, and helping in any way she could.
After months of volunteering, she was hired on as Turlock Gospel Mission staff as a cook and then a shelter attendant.
Happy tears form as Jeanna talks about her time working at Turlock Gospel Mission: “My heart will always be here. I have gained so much confidence in myself and my abilities.” Jeanna used to believe lies that she told herself and others told her about her worth, but now, she knows how to combat those in a healthy way. She says, “I stockpiled the words of encouragement that I received at the Mission so when I feel fear or doubt I can remind myself that I am capable and strong.”
We are so proud of Jeanna’s character and accomplishments. She has received and accepted a wonderful job offer and we wish her all the best in her future endeavors. She will be a lifelong friend of Turlock Gospel Mission.
