Bridgette

By · February 4th, 2019

Seven years ago, Bridgette was coming to Turlock Gospel Mission to eat a full meal, clean up, socialize, and relax in a safe place. She was in the midst of addiction and unable to acquire transportation or housing. Fast forward 7 years and she is sober, healthy, housed, and thriving.

What happened in between then and now was a difficult process, but a worthwhile one that has taught her to rely fully on God. She began by admitting she was ready to make a change in her life and encourages anyone struggling with addiction to “seek the services offered in your area. There are places you can go to get that step up and get on the right track.” When she first came to the Mission, she needed assistance obtaining important documents such as her birth certificate, marriage license, social security card, and ID. With the help of Turlock Gospel Mission staff, she managed to obtain these documents.

In December of 2014, Bridgette became clean and she has been in recovery since then. She got into an amazing program that is located far enough away from old negative influences and triggers in her life. Since graduating the program, she has found a place of her own to live in and hopes to have her teenage daughter come live with her next year.

“Once I turned my life over to God and with the help from my church, Celebrate Recovery, and the Turlock Gospel Mission, my life was transformed. Because with God all things are possible!!!”
